With a starting price of $40,735, the new Telluride is $2,850 more expensive than last year’s model. But it’s still priced competitively.

The gas-powered 2027 Kia Telluride will start at $40,735 when it goes on sale this year, including the $1,545 destination charge. The lineup tops out with the Telluride SX Prestige X-Pro, which costs $58,335—but there are plenty of other trim options before that.

Kia gave the Telluride a significant makeover for the 2027 model year. It’s larger than the outgoing model, with an increased wheelbase of 2.7 inches and, subsequently, more passenger and cargo space. The 2027 Telluride also has two new engines: a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a four-cylinder hybrid.

Kia will continue to offer the three-row SUV in five trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option on the S, EX, and SX grades, and standard on the SX-Prestige models.

The entry-level LX trim is front-wheel-drive only, with the 2.5-liter engine making 274 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. It replaces the 3.8-liter V6 that produced 291 hp and 262 lb-ft.

Standard Telluride LX features include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, heated mirrors, a 4.2-inch LCD driver screen, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, six-way manual driver and passenger seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an eight-speaker sound system, and a manual liftgate.

Depending on the trim, you can get a Telluride with dual 12.3-inch screens on the dash, wheels up to 21 inches, and a 14-speaker Meridian sound system. Kia also offers X-Pro trim for the SX and SX Prestige that adds a unique suspension and an electronic limited-slip differential while increasing ground clearance to 9.1 inches.

The SX Prestige X-Pro gets Kia’s rugged upgrades while packing in the niceties. It comes with a self-level rear suspension, carbon trim, heated and vented second-row seats, and more, many of which are available on lesser trims.

2026 Honda Pilot Elite

Even with a major upgrade for 2027, the Telluride is competitively priced at just over $40,000. The 2026 Ford Explorer starts at $40,160, while the 2026 Dodge Durango costs $40,990.

The new Telluride is cheaper than the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse at $42,795, and the Honda Pilot at $43,690—one of the most expensive three-row options. The new Telluride is also barely cheaper than the recently updated Hyundai Palisade, which costs $41,035.

One of the only three-row SUVs to undercut the Telluride is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder. It starts at $38,995, features a naturally aspirated V6 engine, and recently received a mild update. But it’s an older model in the segment with fewer features.

Many of these prices will likely increase later this year when automakers introduce their 2027 lineups—Kia is just a bit early. The Korean automaker will release pricing for the Telluride hybrid closer to its on-sale date, which kicks off late in the first quarter.

Motor1’s Take: The Kia Telluride is one of the brand’s most popular models, and the next-generation SUV for 2027 has all the right updates while remaining competitively priced. It’s got more space inside, new engine options, including a hybrid, and it looks great, which should help it maintain its sales momentum.
