‘Ask them for an Audi for your troubles.’
A man goes to browse brand-new Audis at the dealership only to end up getting stuck inside.
In a TikTok about the situation, Jack Hogan (@negjack) reveals how he ended up getting locked in the dealership after hours. As of this writing, the TikTok has generated over 372,600 views.
As an Audi driver himself, Hogan revealed how he enjoys browsing the inventory when he is in the neighborhood.
“I’m going to see my friend, and I do this thing where I go past the Audi dealership sometimes, and I get to check out all the Audis,” Hogan begins.
Hogan decided to pay the Audi dealership a visit, but this time, things went south.
“So, I did it today, and they were apparently closed, which is fine because the gate is usually open,” he says. “I got here, and I saw the manager leave. He locked the gate while I was inside of the parking lot, and now both of the gates are locked. I can’t get out.”
Hogan showcases the locked gate and his being trapped inside the dealership. He says he found the general manager’s contact information on Facebook.
“I tried DMing him on Facebook and calling him on Facebook,” he adds. “I found the general manager, and I think I’m blocked. But yeah, I am surrounded by cool cars.”
Of all the places to be stuck, a car dealership where you can enjoy all the vehicles isn’t the worst place. However, it doesn’t change the fact that he is locked inside the dealership after hours.
“But I am locked inside the actual dealership,” he concludes.
Some viewers didn’t see the issue with this, as it can be a car enthusiast’s dream.
“So what’s the problem?” one commented.
“Actually it’s heaven,” Hogan replied.
“That is a very interesting situation to be stuck in… but hey cool cars for the win,” another added.
While others chimed in to simply leave his car there overnight.
“Just call an Uber, they’ll probably give you a free car wash when they open lol,” another added.
“I guess your car will be there until the dealership reopens,” one says.
In a follow-up TikTok, Hogan revealed what he ended up doing.
“Update. I ended up just leaving it here,” he shares.
Hogan showcases how he ended up just parking his Audi in one of the dealership parking spots.
“They had no idea. I blended in. They had no idea,” he concludes.
Hogan told Motor1, “I just picked my car up the next morning. I’d really appreciate this not getting out of hand because it wasn’t a big deal. My [expletive] was there well after closing.”
Now, being trapped inside any property can be alarming and frightening.
Luckily for Hogan, he was still able to exit the dealership as it wasn’t completely fenced in.
Although not all properties are like this, including storage unit facilities, parking garages, and more. Getting trapped inside a car wash can be traumatizing, and the potential for car damage increases.
Considering this scenario, Hogan could’ve called a non-emergency line for support.
“Call the non-emergency line, they usually have the tools for stuff like this lol,” one TikTok commenter suggested.
Local authorities and the non-emergency line 311 can be dialed to report this situation. According to SafeWise, almost 100 cities in the United States have a 311 program. From here, someone can be sent to help the person exit the locked property.
Additionally, contacting the dealership management should be done. This can be done by locating their number, messaging on social media channels, or emailing the dealership.
In the case with Hogan, going in the next morning appeared to be the best option, as he wasn’t able to get in contact with the dealership.
