The 2027 GMC Sierra can produce up to 481 horsepower with the 6.6-liter V8.
Back in June, General Motors unveiled the 2027 GMC Sierra. It has an all-new design inside and out, and new engines, but GMC left a few details unsaid, like price and power—two things it has announced this week.
GMC didn’t provide a full cost breakdown, instead revealing prices for its four-wheel-drive crew-cab models. It’s available in six trims, with the 2027 Sierra 1500 Pro starting at $51,295 (all prices include the destination charge).
The 2027 Sierra 1500 Elevation costs $59,995, while the AT4 starts at $73,495. The Sierra Denali starts at $76,795, while the AT4X and Denali Ultimate sit at the top at $85,495 and $87,895, respectively. GMC dropped the SLE and SLT trims for 2027.

In addition to the Sierra 1500’s new design, GMC is offering two new V8 engines. The 5.7-liter small-block V8 comes standard in the AT4 and Denali trims, producing 402 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. It can also tow up to 13,500 pounds.
The engine is optional on the Pro and Elevation trims. These come standard with the automaker’s enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder, which has new turbochargers, an upgraded fuel injection system, and redesigned pistons. It now produces 350 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 40 and 25, respectively;
The new 6.6-liter V8 produces 481 hp and 501 lb-ft. It’s standard only on the Denali Ultimate, but it is optional on the AT4X.
The 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six, which produces 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, is also available. It’s standard on the AT4X and optional on the Elevation, AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate.
GMC says the 2027 Sierra will begin arriving at dealers by the end of the year. The automaker will release pricing details for its other cab and bed configurations later as production expands and these models become available.
Motor1’s Take: The 2027 GMC Sierra is a major upgrade over the outgoing model, with better styling and a nicer cabin. We expect the truck’s starting price will be much lower once General Motors begins building the other body configurations.
