“Their car wash just destroyed my truck.”

A video is showcasing the dangers of what could happen if truck drivers go through an automatic car wash with items left in the truck bed.

In a TikTok with over 13,000 views, Brent Gray (@brent.gray50) shares the altercation between a customer and a Scenic Suds Car Wash Express car wash employee.

“I’m not getting back in my car. This is y’all’s fault; this is y’all’s fault. This is y’all’s fault,” a driver whose truck was damaged in the car wash says.

Equipment in another driver’s truck bed got tangled up in the car wash components. It seems it got stuck, creating a pile-up behind it. Several vehicles behind the truck appear damaged as a result. The whole operation is at a standstill as workers try to figure out the next move.

“Y’all should not have ever let him come through this … car wash with that attached to begin with. It’s y’all’s negligence,” he continues.

One worker confronts the man and requests the man to get back into his vehicle. The driver refuses and repeats that his vehicle was damaged due to their negligence. The worker calls the police as the man continues to yell at the staff.

“Call the police. That’s fine. I’m calling the police myself,” the man says.

After this, the worker on the phone gets in the man’s face and demands he get back in his car.

“I’m not getting in my car, and you can’t make me,” the driver responds. “Get out of my face. Get away from me.”

“This is my territory. This is private property. You need to get in your … car right now,” the worker replies.

Not intimated by the remarks, the man doubles down and refuses to get in his car.

“Their car wash just destroyed my truck,” he concludes.

Viewers in the comment section sided with the driver and said the employees should’ve stopped the truck from entering prior.

“I’m on the guy with the damaged truck side. He is 100% correct. They should not let him in. When at work they make me take everything in the bed out,” one TikTok commenter wrote.

“He is 100% correct. It’s their job to check the truck before it enters. And the fact that he is in the customer’s face yelling it’s his territory gonna cost them some more,” another added.

“As someone who works at a car wash these guys should have known better. We literally check truck beds and everything before sending a truck through,” a third chimed in.

“Car wash Manager here. Car wash should have to accept liability for all damages due to employee negligence and that employee should be terminated if that was willingly loaded by an employee,” one shared.

“Easy lawsuit. I would sue until I owned the car wash,” one revealed.

Others wondered why that full truck bed went inside the car wash in the first place.

“Car wash literally says ‘truck beds have to be empty,’” one commented.

“Why would that truck go thru the carwash with that in his bed,” one questioned

Having a truck, there’s a good chance there is stuff in the bed. This can include tools, materials, and general supplies. However, it’s essential to remember to take these tools out when going through an automatic car wash.

Most car washes will have a policy that the truck bed needs to be completely cleared out before entering the car wash. By not clearing out the items in the back, it can cause damage to the vehicle, the car wash equipment, or other vehicles.

Other restrictions include trucks with dual rear wheels (dualies) or having the tailgate down. Neither are allowed in automatic car washes. Additionally, trucks with fuel tanks should never be allowed to enter the car wash.

Truck drivers should be aware of these potential dangers, but the car wash staff also should ensure the truck bed is clear. Skipping the truck bed inspection can create a major headache for everyone involved.
