Mack Trucks' Premium Plus service contract combines the preventative maintenance benefits of the Mack Premium contract with additional powertrain repair coverage in one plan. Fixed monthly payments give customers greater control over operating costs, while helping protect them from unexpected powertrain repair expenses.
Mack Premium Plus can offer up to 38 percent less planned downtime, $6,000 in maintenance savings, and $3,000 in financing savings, compared to typical usage, contract terms, and maintenance intervals. Mack Premium Plus adds powertrain repair coverage for the engine, exhaust aftertreatment system, transmission, clutch (including wearable clutch lining kit), and chassis driveline components to what the Mack Premium service contract already offered. The Premium Contract includes a maintenance plan, adaptive maintenance, fleet management, connected services and monthly billing.
"Mack Premium Plus offers customers a more predictable way to manage preventive maintenance and powertrain repairs," said Ashish Sadhu, Mack Trucks services director. "By combining comprehensive maintenance support with powertrain repair coverage in one contract, we are helping customers stay focused on their operations while the Mack dealer network helps keep their trucks performing."
Maintenance schedules are tailored to the truck and its operation using vehicle utilization data so customers avoid servicing too often or not frequently enough. If a truck enters the shop for unplanned maintenance or a covered powertrain repair, preventive maintenance that is due can also be completed during the same visit to avoid an additional stop.
A fleet manager can use connected vehicle data to monitor the truck, track and schedule maintenance, and coordinate service with the dealer. All covered maintenance and repairs are performed by technicians trained specifically on Mack vehicles using Mack-approved parts.
By maintaining a documented service history through the Mack dealer network, Premium Plus can help support future resale efforts. The program maintains certified service records that can be transferred to subsequent owners, providing confidence in the truck's maintenance history.
Tri-State Truck Center, based in Memphis, Tennessee, recently participated in the pilot program for the new Premium Plus service contract. Will Maddox, executive vice president of sales and leasing for Tri-State, said the Premium Plus plan is a great option for customers who desire to use the Mack network for maintenance needs and who have historically purchased extended coverages.
The pilot began in January 2026 with several Mack dealers. To date, Mack has quoted Premium Plus service contracts for more than 1,000 trucks, and dealers have secured new business.
During the pilot program, Tri-State worked with Mack's dedicated team to create a system for selling, servicing, and maintaining service contracts. Mack created the value chain using feedback from both dealers and customers.
"Service contracts create the desired relationship for customers and dealers through integration of operations, simplicity of monthly billing, inflation protection, risk reduction, and increased uptime," Maddox said. "I believe they provide the customer with the best and most cost-effective way to maintain their assets."
