Volkswagen ID.4 Customer Bonus gives $12,500 on limited 2025 stock and $6,000 on 2026 models, with purchase or lease terms and tight eligibility.
Volkswagen wants its remaining ID.4 crossovers gone, and it is dangling $12,500 to make that happen. The catch is which model year you are shopping, because only leftover 2025 units qualify for the full amount.
Production at the automaker’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant stopped in April 2026, and Volkswagen says it has enough stock to cover demand into 2027. That clearance push comes as the factory shifts its focus to the high-volume 2027 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport.
Volkswagen ID.4 2025 MY $12,500 incentive
The discount, first reported by Electrek, covers new 2025 ID.4 units only, sold through participating dealers as either a cash purchase or a lease. It does not apply to fleet sales or dealership sale-program transactions, and it cannot be redeemed for cash.
Five trims carry the offer: Pro, AWD Pro, Pro S, AWD Pro S, and AWD Pro S Plus. Volkswagen lists the 2026 ID.4 Pro with an EPA-estimated range up to 291 miles on the 82 kilowatt-hour battery, and comparable 2025 Pro models use the same pack when you find them on lots.
All-wheel-drive versions trade some of that range for the extra motor and land closer to 263 miles per charge. Volkswagen is not advertising this as a broad markdown across the model line, it is a clearance push on a specific, aging batch of stock.
That distinction is important for anyone cross-shopping against the automaker’s other current deals, like the Tiguan and Atlas incentives running alongside it. The $2,000 Taos bonus and $3,000 Tiguan bonus are separate programs entirely.
Most ID.4s still sitting on dealer lots are actually 2026 models, and those qualify for a $6,000 Customer Bonus instead of the larger figure. The same terms apply: purchase or lease, participating dealers only, no fleet or dealership-program deals included.
Both incentives are scheduled to expire on November 2, 2026, according to Volkswagen’s current offer terms. Shoppers hoping for the full $12,500 should verify trim and model-year availability before visiting a dealer.
This clearance effort lines up with a bigger shift already underway. Volkswagen previously paused ID.4 production for the US market, and the company has confirmed that a future version of the ID.4 is planned for North America, although it has not detailed naming or timing.
A new electric crossover often referred to as an ID.4 successor is expected to debut around late 2026.
Motor1’s Take: Heavy dealer discounts on remaining ID.4 stock will increase near-term supply of new models in the used market. Added supply will put downward pressure on resale values. Rival compact EVs may respond with deeper incentives to defend pricing. That would squeeze dealers handling trade-ins and lease returns.
